Soccer has long been a popular sport amongst the pupils in the school's catchment area. Since the 1980's internal school leagues have been organised during lunchtime and after school but it was not until 1988 that the school took part in external competitions. In that year, the school entered and won the T.S.B. Soccer blitz in Chanel College.

The following year proved to be very successful for the school team as it emerged from many rounds of competition as the winner of the F.A.I.S. senior cup. However, it was not a clean sweep as the team was defeated in the final of the league.

Since then the school has taken part each year in both cup and league competitions - the highpoint was reaching the semi-final knock out stage of the league in 1993. With Mr. Neylon and Mr. Eviston as mentors the school has also entered the 'Mars six-a-side' and Soccer skills competitions in recent years.

With the intention of increasing the emphasis on skill the F.A.I.S. is encouraging six-a-side competitions with smaller pitches and goal posts - to this end the school has recently acquired portable aluminium goals and nets. The school would hope to continue to cater for this sporting interest through P.E. classes, games at lunch time and after school activities.
