It brings back many happy (and sometimes sad) memories of my year (1973-1974) as Principal of St. David's. Having worked as Principal of an Orphanage in Galway for the previous six years, the prospect of the appointment to take charge of such a large school seemed daunting...<-read on->


When first appointed to St. David's as Principal, my wish was to see again the main corridor of the school which I had first seen in 1960. At that time, there was a long corridor stretching the full length of the building and this housed models and exhibits going back many years. There were magnificent chandeliers gracing this corridor as well as the main entrance...<-read on->


Having been one of the founding members of staff of St. David's in July 1968, it was a great honour for me to create a little bit of history by becoming the first lay principal of the school in September 1977, when the Christian Brothers ceased an involvement with Primary Education in the Artane area...<-read on->
